- Mashup of MIT Simile Timeline widget and the open commons data from the cooperative research website.*
The Cooperative Research site includes timelines like the widely referenced "911 Timeline" which only references 'mainstream' media sources. The content starts off in a mysql database and is then formatted out so its semi structured.
Potentially could get access direct to the db but it would be more fun to screen scrape using the various MIT tools that are part of the open source MIT SIMILE project.
Solvent to screen-scrape the data, PiggyBank to store it. By the way these days its not called 'screen scraping' its called 'Mashup'. Cool!!!
